Restaurant: large, and also available for large tables. Service: fast, but not always on point. Menu: classic mountain menu with all meat-based dishes. Always ask if there are any dishes off the menu. Food: kebabs at the beginning, of course, good and tender, too bad there were few of them. some chose the first, others the second. I tried the spaghetti with mushrooms and sausage and they were good, but the highlight was the mixed meat with provoletta. Price and final advice: it doesn't cost much, it tastes good, I would have preferred larger portions for both roasts and meat. However, I recommend going there

I must say that on the surface I wasn't expecting such excellent cuisine in every way, especially the first courses made by a guy from the hotelier in Roccaraso who with skill and professionalism created an exceptional dish... If it were possible I would give 10 stars thanks Armando to Christopher for service and cuisine. A greeting also goes to the owner who created all this. We will be back soon.

Seeing the splendid sunny day (and the consistent strong heat), we decided, after a certain period of break from the restaurants, to spend Sunday outside and treat ourselves to a lunch of good, traditional cuisine. So, we started looking everywhere for a home-made restaurant with a good score: we ended up at the "La Staffa" restaurant, a restaurant in the peripheral area of Roccaraso, in a point where it is necessary to use the car to getting there. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by very kind and helpful staff, who showed us a nice little table in the right corner of the place, on the parking lot side. Small note: a curious fact is that we found some lentils scattered all over the table, which in those parts is a good omen gesture. The first thing that catches the eye is certainly the furnishings of the place, beautifully spartan and homemade; the atmosphere is rather dark, but very warm and welcoming; The various antique objects scattered around the restaurant also play their part: from the old radio to the scales to the "collar for pack animals" hanging from the column. As written above, the staff was kind... even if a little awkward in some places; certainly then, they have a good organization of time, given that, despite the large quantity of customers present, they managed to bring us the dishes incredibly quickly (20 min. maximum),👌. Coming to the food, the quality of the dishes was high and very good as well as the plating typically abundant and homemade: before ordering, they brought us one welcome snack: toasted bread with oil and a pinch of salt, very tasty; we started with a delicious platter of cured meats and cheeses called "fusella" and another of game, containing deer ham, goose and 2 wild boar sausages. And the wild boar ragù was also very good with the tagliatelle that I had as a first course, delicious, I warmly recommend them; also appreciated the mantis shrimp with truffle, a traditional dish. Unforgettable, then the mixed grill even if a little small (a steak, two pieces of lamb, a sausage and a fillet with green pepper); for the cut, however, it was so-so, not that it wasn't good but, we noticed that a piece had been cut and removed; side dish of french fries and sautéed arugula Ok!!! Finished with a dessert: we took a panna cotta with berries, good but it arrived all melted at the table and a slice of "grandma's cake", nothing to complain about. Finished lunch with coffee (also good). What a Nice lunch!!!

Place already tried and known in recent years. Restaurant located towards the exit from Roccaraso, easily reachable with a few parking spaces right in front. The place is nice (given the period, decorated in Christmas style) and the service is good. They work in time slots and bring a plate of bread with oil upon arrival. The menu is varied for both first and second courses. I found the first courses good, even if my dish (chitarrine with saffron, bacon and scamorza) was not creamy and blended enough. The second course (mixed wild boar meat with scamorza) was good. Overall a good result.
